This is a heart – warming story of a youth who had nobody of his own in this world but who owned everyone with love and affection. A dweller of a small slum in the skyscraper city of Bombay, he had not even a name of his own. He was popularly and affectionately called “Master’’ by all the slum-dwellers.

Master fond of alcohol, of his three friends Handle, Dhebri and Gutka, and he had not a care in the world. He knew all about vehicles and their mechanism and but knew little of the evil that lurks inside human beings.

His carefree life underwent a complete change when he discovered a child lying in his truck when he went one of his driving assignments. When he failed to find any claimant for the child, Master took a vow to bring up the child as his own child, just as he himself an orphan child, was brought up by Ganu Ustaad of the Slum.
A great tie of affection develops between the child-nicknamed ‘chutka’-ahd Master. Both of them are very fond of each other and Master’s life is full of joy.

Meanwhile, the mother of the child, Roopa, a poor village girl who had come to seek shelter in the city and who had lost the child accidentally, tries to forget all about her lost child, by working day and night to succeed as a dancer. She is sponsored in her career as a star of show business by Deewanji, a scheming cunning man who sees in Roopa an opportunity to become rich.

oopa’s first stage appearance is sensational and in a short while she rapidly climbs the ladder of fame and fortune. Out of her earnings, she went to donate something to a nearby orphanage and while returning she is attacked by some goondas who kidnap her. This is a scheme of Paul, one of the accomplices of Deewanji. But the vehicle in which Roopa is kidnapped is being driven by Master. He rescues her from the goondas and escorts her safely to her home. Then without saying a word, without disclosing his name or address, he disappears.

When Roopa becomes very famous, owns a big house, car and all the modern amenities, she still misses her lost child. Chutka, meanwhile, is now going to a school. For the sake of ‘Chutka’, Master has taken a vow to give up all his habits and sever all his connections with the evil doers.

Master becomes the victim of a plot hatched by Paul and gets arrested by the police on a wrong charge. But the cries of Chutka attract the attention of Roopa who bails out Master and bring Master and Chutka to her home. Now Master, Chutka and Roopa stand under the same roof, little knowing the true relationship between the three of time. Roopa is drawn towards the child and because of the child she comes in close contact with master whom she discovers to be a golden – hearted person. She lets Master and Chutka stay in her big house and even offers a place for his garage.

Seeing Roopa escaping from his clutches, Deewanji plans a foolproof scheme. Roopa’s jewellery is missing and master is arrested for the theft. Roopa is also convinced of his guilt – till the slum dwellers come and tell her the truth about Master - - - - that incredible story which proves that Chutka is not product of Master’s sin but the lost child of Roopa Herself!

When the truth is known, Master is a free man gain. But he ponders – what does this freedom mean to him? Chutka has found his real, lost mother – the mother who will now offer her true love and the richness of her house in which he could grow up as a respectable person. Master was now once again alone in this world – and loneliness also can be like a prison.

Did Chutka leave his foster father for the sake of his real mother? Did Roopa succeed in escaping from the clutches of the scheming Deewanji and his accomplices? And did Roopa and Master, the glamorous stage star and the slum dweller, come together in life?
